Julie Campiche is a very special kind of harpist. She takes her instrument into uncharted territory, exploring unsuspected sonorities and embracing unusual musical roles. After studying classical harp in Geneva and then Lyon, she turned to the study of jazz, which she pursued for over fifteen years, completing her studies at the renowned Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne (HEMU). As an improviser and composer, Julie Campiche never hesitates to confront her harp with electronic effects, to bring it into contact with the worlds of theater and performance, to bring it into contact with the art of trapeze artist Vanessa Pahud, and even to confront jazz and baroque aesthetics with the meeting of her quartet and the Capella Jenensis ensemble. We meet her in Strasbourg for her concerts at the Jazz à la Petite France festival.
