Mixtur has been Catalonia's festival of creative music since 2012. As well as a program of concerts, roundtables and exhibitions, Mixtur is also a major teaching academy with workshops in composition and sound experimentation, improvisation and performance, welcoming around 80 young students from all over Europe every year.
In 2021, our first collaboration was with Catalan composer Jose Rio-Pareja and the creation of Nomada S5 with the Ulysses ensemble directed by Swiss composer and conductor Beat Furrer.
In 2022, with the support of the Ramon Llull Foundation, we will meet again for the creation of Sightings by Raquel Garcia-Tomás, with video artist Pere Ginard and the young German ensemble Via Nova.
Finally, in 2024, two works will be premiered:
* Instants fragiles - Portrait Ariadna Alsina Tarrés, co-commissioned by Ariadna Alsina, a Catalan composer living in France, and Ensemble Sillages, premiered in France by Ensemble Sillages on September 21 at 8 p.m. on the occasion of the ensembles festival, then in Spain on October 11, 2024 at Barcelona's Palau de la Musica.
* mothergrandmother by Andalusian composer Isandro Ojeda, to be premiered by the Viennese ensemble Black Page Orchestra on October 12 at 9pm at Fabra i coats.
